Our minds can tell the most dramatic, terrifying stories about our lives. They can also tell the most unbelievable fantasy-like stories. The fascinating thing is that, if you believe one or the other that is what you will create.
This Halloween I saw an abundance of wonder women walking the streets exuding a sense of power and confidence. In stating this observation to one of the beautiful Wonder Woman characters on the streets, she stated, “Wow. I am dressing the part, but not acting like it.” This realization took great courage to see the truth of what she is creating. The positive is that with this new awareness, she can now make the changes to consciously choose actions that reflect the fabulous, powerful woman she is. This particular woman now knows what she wants out of her life. Taking the time to get clear on the qualities that you want is the first step.
I chose the dress as a Doctor this year. Although I initially chose the costume as a “last minute” alternative, when asked what kind of doctor I was, a friend of mine chimed in, “She is a doctor of love!” I smiled thinking, yes, that is true. It is love for ourselves and others that heals! The truth is that we already have everything we need to be our best self. And it all begins in our own mind.
I invite you to ask yourself right now: Who were you or who would you have been this year? What are the qualities that character inspires in you? What needs to happen for you to fulfill your desires?
