Life is full of fun and adventures; it is also full of sadness and hardships. Sometimes you feel knocked down and deflated. Sometimes the only answer is to cry.

Over the last few years, I’ve learned: How to love the hard choices.

It is human nature to control. We want to grip onto our lives and steer ourselves into the direction desired. It’s important for us to have goals and dreams in our work, relationships, and lifestyles. At the same time, life brings us obstacles and opportunities for a purpose.

For me this has always been a difficult concept to grasp. In recent years however it has become much easier to accept the lessons I am here to learn from the obstacles placed before me. I consistently ask myself: When I hit a wall, can I see the beauty and possibility I have not prepared for? Can I use these experiences for their good and bad…and bring the best out of them?

Think of the last obstacle you faced. Looking at the situation now, being removed from the immediacy of it, can you see it in a new light?

When we look back on our lives we often see why these things occurred the way they did. Life brings us each and every experience so we may see the contrast of what we want and what we do not. When we see that truth, we can then refine the opportunities we truly desire to create.

Opportunities will continue to unfold when least expected. Can you accept in this moment that you may not know the reason and still “be with” that truth and your present experience?
