Happy Mother’s Day to every Mom out there!

If you know me, you know that I am who I am and I do what I do because of my Dad. The loss of my father at a young age was the catalyst to looking at the larger picture of life and led me on a search to understand what it was all about. I had a deep desire to understand my purpose and live on purpose. This Mother’s Day, I realized how my Mom actually started me on a path to personal growth before my father was diagnosed with cancer.

My Mom was the catalyst to open my heart to love.

In high school, she handed me a book titled A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, a book that I was so intrigued with, but way too young to fully understand at the age of 15. However, I clearly remember knowing at that time that love was at the core of everything. My heart was so full of love, that I had no idea where to channel it all. For the next four years, it was channeled into the guys that I dated and then turned off almost instantly with the loss of my father.
My Mother carried enough love for us all.

As my father passed, he told her that he would not have lived as long as he did without her love and faith. Looking back on my own life, my Mom’s love and faith pulled me through tough times. Win or lose, she was there to celebrate me. She always saw greatness in me, even when I could not see it myself. As a type A perfectionist, greatness was often elusive. There was always a way to be “better.”

Today, I understand greatness. I understand balance. I understand love. I understand fear. I understand how to win and lose. I understand how to achieve true success. I know that real success is living in service; service to ourselves, to others and the world. Living from a place of service allows us to fully connect to who we are, to find fulfillment and to naturally attract all that we desire in our lives.

The Wrapped in Love Foundation was created by my Mom to provide love, hope and comfort in the form of blankets to cancer patients right now. The blankets are made with love, given with love, and hold the intention to heal through the power of love. In the few years that we have been operating, we have donated over 3500 blankets to patients in Pittsburgh and Austin. The amount of testimonials we have received is incredible. This Mother’s Day, I realized that my Mom is no longer just my Mom. She is a Mother to thousands of people and sharing her love with each and every one possible. I am so honored to be her daughter. I am honored to serve through Wrapped in Love and my private practice.

Thank you, Mom. I love you and each and every one of you.
