Spring is almost here and it is a beautiful time of year to spend more time outdoors. Have you ever noticed how easy it is to feel more peaceful when outdoors? Spending time in nature help us connect to our true nature. Whether you take a walk, sit out on a patio, or explore around town, I encourage you to really be present and experience each moment fully.

Being present sounds easy, but it can be a challenge! If you find it difficult, try focusing on your breath. The breath is a powerful link between the mind, body and spirit. It is a simple way to build awareness, stay in the moment, and feel more inner peace.

Take a moment to focus on your breath right now.

  • Feel the rise and fall of your chest. (You may have thoughts pop up in your mind, but just let them be.)
  • Stay focused on the rise and fall of your chest and feel each breath in and out.
  • Allow your body to relax more with each breath.

Some people prefer this exercise while sitting and others while standing or walking. Experiment with what works best for you. With practice you will experience how living in the present will create more inner peace and happiness.
